Jan Hoijtink
Studied with the pianists Thom Bollen and Jan Wijn. From the first one mentioned he received his diploma “Cum Laude”. After that he received in 1981 his diploma Musician Performer with the special endorsement Chamber Music. Jan is correpetitor at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam en accompanies instrumentalists and vocalists at their exams at the Conservatory.
Also on Music Festivals and Master classes regarding Chamber Music as well as Competitions he is performing very often. Often the participants he accompanies win prices.
He teaches to play the piano to young as well as to advanced pianists.
The duo with violin player Helma Leenhouts through the years has build a great repertoire. Numerous concertos were given in many countries.
Recently they performed in Estonia, Germany, Finland, The Netherlands and Switzerland.
The Lovisa piano trio exists of Jan Hoijtink and Helma Leenhouts together with Cello player Monique Bartels. This trio also has an extensive and impressive repertoire. The name Lovisa comes from the name of the romantic summer house of Jean Sibelius, who composed many trios over there.
Their repertoire reaches from classical music till contemporary classical music. This means that exciting and alternating programs are being offered. Performances with special themes are also part of their repertoire.
